Built to Discover in the Driftless

new traditions with new friends

Last year I struck up a conversation with Chase about the idea of doing some fly fishing. Little did I know what it meant to ask Chase to go on a short trip.

We chatted through spring and he and I bounced ideas off each other, but he knew exactly what he was doing, and to be fair, required little help.

As the ultimate host, Chase ensured everything was taken care of, and nothing was missed. Joined by a group of other Oak and Oscar watch owners, it was a weekend of chasing trout, eating amazing local foods, and enjoying all the Driftless has to offer. We had guides to show us around Viroqua and the surrounding valleys, educational coffee tours, and tremendous farm to table food.

I went out early and met a buddy and got some fishing and golfing in before I met the group, and boy did it feel great to be spending some time in the Driftless again. It’s one of my favorite places, and I don’t spend enough time there any more. Something to work on in the future, and can’t wait to get together with the crew again here in 2024!
